Built by people who love rowing.

Glyyd started with a simple frustration: the data was there, but the tools to use it weren't.

The story

Jon briefly rowed stroke seat at a small liberal arts school on the East Coast, where he studied mathematics and philosophy and fell in love with the sport. After graduation, he spent a decade as a humanitarian aid worker for Doctors Without Borders and the UN — setting up operations in conflict and disaster zones. That's also where he met his wife.

Years later, as a parent and working in technology — most recently at Amazon's Project Kuiper — he watched his son go through the rowing recruitment process and realized there was a gap. The sensor data existed. The platforms to collect it existed. But the tools to actually use it for coaching were clunky, fragmented, or built for engineers rather than coaches.

He built the first version of Glyyd on a folding table in his garage, with one goal: give coaches a tool that speaks their language and fits into how they actually work.
